KCCM, 91.1 FM in Fargo/Moorhead and KRSU, 91.3 FM in Appleton

What happened?
A storm August 14 caused major damage to the equipment on the towers in these locations that we use to broadcast our classical music. As a result, both of these stations were off the air for a few days and are now operating at much reduced power so that further damage to the transmitting equipment is avoided.
KCCM Update:
We need to replace the antenna and much of the transmission line. Most of this has been ordered and should arrive within the week.
When we begin the repair, all of the radio stations on the tower will need to be off the air. At this time we do not know the duration of the off air time. We also can't give a firm time as to the start date and time. This will be dependent upon the weather. Please expect two to three days of off air time once we begin repairs.
KRSU Update - Sept. 21, 2009:
Here's an update about the progress of fixing the signals from our classical music station KRSU, 91.3 FM in Appleton.
KRSU has been fixed. We successfully hung the new transmission line and installed the new equipment over the weekend. Both stations will experience some intermittent signal shut downs today (Monday, September 21) as we test the equipment. Otherwise, expect them to provide full-service signals to you.
If you hear any problems with either station, please contact us immediately at 1-800-227-2811.
Thank you for your patience.
Hazardous Work:
Fixing equipment on a tower is done by a crew of three to four people who are hanging from supports 650 feet (KCCM) and 1000+ feet (KRSU) above ground. Everything takes longer to do at that height. In addition, the crew has to ascend and desend the tower every day. This also is time consuming. This is a hard and dangerous job that we want done correctly, so we need to give the crew the time to complete the work.
