Minnesota Public Radio's Radio Heartland to Add Additional Programming to Its Schedule Beginning November 2, 2009

Oct 19, 2009

Minnesota Public Radio's Radio Heartland will add new programs to its schedule starting November 2, 2009. The new lineup coincides with the HD Radio and Web service's one-year anniversary in December.

Radio Heartland's new schedule will add broadcasts of American Public Media programs "A Prairie Home Companion" and "American Routes." It will also add NPR's "Mountain Stage" and the much-requested "Thistle and Shamrock" with Fiona Ritchie.

Radio Heartland streams 24/7 on radioheartland.org and is available on HD Radio in the Twin Cities on 91.1 KNOW HD 2. Throughout the day on Radio Heartland, listeners hear an eclectic mix of acoustic, Americana, and roots music--anything from the fret board to the washboard.

Dale Connelly (formerly of The Morning Show) hosts a live weekday program 6-8 a.m. Its first hour is repeated at 9 a.m. and the entire show is repeated over the lunchtime, 11 a.m.-1 p.m. The rest of the day features great music that listeners have come to expect from Radio Heartland.
