89.3 The Current Presents Rock the Cradle January 24 at the Children's Theatre Company and Minneapolis Institute of Arts Campus

WHAT: 89.3 The Current presents Rock the Cradle, a free day of family fun, held at two of the state's premier arts and culture institutions. Now in its fifth year, the event has grown from 2,500 attendees its first year to just under 13,000 attendees last year. Families and social groups from all over the Twin Cities come together to enjoy music, art, books and their community in a meaningful, entertaining and engaging setting.

All your favorite Current DJs will be on hand for the fun--Mary Lucia, Mark Wheat, Steve Seel, Jill Riley, Barb Abney, Bill DeVille and the entire Current staff.

Here is a sampling of activities scheduled throughout the day:

• Art Carts throughout the MIA for kids to interact with • Story Time with Current DJs • Live music with local musicians: Jeremy Messersmith, Adam Levy and Haley Bonar • Kid's Disco hosted by The Current DJs--includes live performance by local kid's dance band Koo Koo Kanga Roo • Family Yoga provided by Blooma • Live performances for toddlers and pre-schoolers from Baby Time Fun and MacPhail Center for Music instructors • Performances by local puppetry theater Open Eye Theater • Instrument Petting Zoo hosted by MacPhail Center For Music • Activity with and information about Free Arts Minnesota

Most activities are available for everyone to participate; a few activities have limited seating and require a ticket to be picked up on site to reserve a spot.

WHERE: The Children's Theatre Company and Minneapolis Institute of Arts campus, 2400 Third Ave. S., Minneapolis

TICKETS AND PARKING: Admission is free. Street and ramp parking is available around the event.
