The Current Night Comes to Collegeville March 25

Join The Current for an evening of great music and a Policy and a Pint conversation at Brother Willie's Pub in Collegeville

WHAT: The Current brings music and conversation to Collegeville on Thursday, March 25. Minnesota Public Radio's award-winning music service--The Current--recently began broadcasting to the Collegeville/St. Cloud community and can be heard on HD radio at KNSR 88.9 FM HD2. The station is also available via webstream at thecurrent.org.

The evening will begin with an installment of The Current and Citizens League's popular Policy and a Pint series: "The Culture of Food--Thoughts from the Field." Hosted by The Current's Steve Seel, the conversation will focus on the social, cultural, and civic elements of the local food movement from two perspectives: Gary Brever, owner of Ploughshare Farm in Parkers Prairie, MN, named Edible Twin Cities 2009 Local Hero winner for Best Farm and Diane Veale Jones, an environmental studies professor who specializes in food culture and agriculture at the College of Saint Benedict and Saint John's University. This special Policy and a Pint is co-presented with the Eugene J. McCarthy Center for Public Policy and Civic Engagement.

The Current Night at Collegeville continues with DJ sets from The Current's Mark Wheat, and music performed by acclaimed singer/songwriter Chris Koza. He will perform songs off his upcoming release, "Crater Lake," recorded as Rogue Valley, which be released with a concert at The Fitzgerald Theater in St. Paul on April 10.
