Minnesota Public Radio Presents The Piano Bar Show with Dan Chouinard Saturday, May 8 at The Fitzgerald Theater

WHAT: Minnesota Public Radio invites you to The Piano Bar Show--an evening capturing the vibe of a well-worn neighborhood watering hole, where musician types stop by after a gig to let down their hair and sing a couple of tunes in exchange for a drink on the house.

Pianist Dan Chouinard hosts this big-tent barrelhouse evening of swing, soul and sweetness, calling up a roster of singer friends-- including jazz showman Dennis Spears, the rowdy trio Sopranorama (Maria Jette, Molly Sue McDonald and Janis Hardy), plus John Munson (Semisonic, New Standards) on bass and vocals. Jazz songstress Thomasina Petrus, legendary balladeer Jerry Rau, multi-guitarist Joe Savage, The Caskettes, and North Dakota street duo Calamity and the Owl help round out the cast.

After the Piano Bar Show, join Dan and the cast for a drink down the street at the Saint Paul Hotel starting at 10 p.m.
