Minnesota Public Radio Welcomes Author and Filmmaker Sebastian Junger to The UBS Forum on June 9

Bestselling author of "The Perfect Storm" and Sundance Grand Jury Prize winner to discuss U.S. troops fighting in Afghanistan
WHEN: Wednesday, June 9, 7-8:30 p.m.
WHAT: Bestselling author Sebastian Junger comes to the Fitzgerald Theater to discuss the lives of U.S. troops on the ground, fighting in Afghanistan. American RadioWorks' Stephen Smith will host the evening. Junger's new book, "War," is based on his experience with a single platoon of the U.S. Army as they battled their way across eastern Afghanistan. He explores the psychological, social, and even neurological elements of combat, as well as the bonds that form between these small groups of men.
The documentary film "Restrepo"--a companion to "War"--has recently won a Grand Jury Prize at the 2010 Sundance Film Festival.
Junger's book will be on sale and there will be a signing after the event.
