Minnesota Public Radio Elects Samuel S. M. Wai to Board of Trustees

(St. Paul, Minn.)--June 7, 2010--Minnesota Public Radio announced today that it has elected Samuel S. M. Wai to its Board of Trustees. Wai is currently the Treasurer for American Crystal Sugar Company in Moorhead, Minnesota.

"Samuel Wai is an inspired addition to Minnesota Public Radio's Board of Trustees," said Bill Kling, president, MPR. "We will all benefit from his knowledge of regional issues in Moorhead, his passion for classical music, and his wealth of leadership expertise." Wai has been a member of MPR's Regional Advisory Council for Fargo/Moorhead and a member of MPR since the mid-1970s.

Samuel S. M. Wai has 34 years of financial professional experience. He served as Corporate Controller and Chief Financial Officer for Monarch Photo Inc., from 1976-1979, and has worked in various roles at American Crystal Sugar Company since 1979, including Acting CFO and Vice President for Finance, and in his current role as Treasurer for the company. Wai has a B.A. in Finance and Philosophy from Moorhead State University.
