Minnesota Public Radio to Present On-Stage Performances, Live Broadcasts and Debates Throughout the 2010 Minnesota State Fair

Friday, Sept. 3 is MPR Day at the Fair

(St. Paul, Minn.)--August 9, 2010--Minnesota Public Radio will sponsor live broadcasts and on-stage events every day of this year's Minnesota State Fair, Aug. 26-Sept. 6. Hosts from MPR News, The Current and Classical MPR will be on hand to present political leaders and local music stars, all while getting a chance to mix with fair goers.

Friday, Sept. 3 is MPR Day at the State Fair. MPR News' Gary Eichten will host a debate between the three major party gubernatorial candidates and an interview with Garrison Keillor during a live Midday broadcast from Carousel Park, along with a live performance by choral group Cantus and hip-hop chanteuse Dessa.

A Prairie Home Companion with Garrison Keillor at the Minnesota State Fair Grandstand will round out the day.

MPR Broadcast Booth:

All broadcasts and performances will be held at the Minnesota Public Radio booth, at the corner of Judson and Nelson, unless otherwise noted.

* The Current can be heard on KCMP 89.3 FM in the Twin Cities and KMSE 88.7 FM in Rochester
