(St. Paul, Minn.)--Sept. 16, 2010--Minnesota Public Radio announced today that its eclectic music service The Current, KMSE 88.7 FM, will receive a signal upgrade in Rochester, Minn.

In order to facilitate the upgrade, KMSE 88.7 FM will be temporarily off the air from 7 a.m.-7 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 22.

Once the upgrade is in place, residents of Rochester will benefit from a stronger signal from The Current--a service that brings listeners the best authentic new music alongside the music that inspired it, from local to legendary, indie to influential, new to nostalgic.

"We are proud to expand the signal strength and listening area of The Current in Rochester," said Chris Cross, manager, MPR Regional Networks. "The Current is an important aspect of our work and this upgrade will further its contribution to the Rochester community."
