Minnesota Public Radio Presents Mark Twain Tonight! with Hal Holbrook Sunday, October 24 at the Fitzgerald Theater

Oct 5, 2010

WHAT: Hal Holbrook's one-man show Mark Twain Tonight! comes to the Fitzgerald Theater as part of the theater's special Centennial celebration.

The show features Emmy- and Tony-award winner Hal Holbrook as an aging Mark Twain on his 70th birthday. As Twain, he reflects upon the whirlwind success of Huckleberry Finn, boyhood memories, world travels and career as a journalist. Improvising based upon mood and audience composition, Holbrook pulls from a large range of Twain's works and experiences to weave together a unique adaptation of Twain's literary legacy at each performance.

This event is made possible in part by the Minnesota Legacy Amendment's Arts and Cultural Heritage Fund.

2010 marks the 100th anniversary of Mark Twain's passing and the release of his much anticipated autobiography. Advanced copies of Mark Twain's autobiography will available for purchase in the lobby courtesy of Common Good Books.
