Minnesota Public Radio's Broadcast Journalist Series Welcomes T.R. Reid on February 21

WHEN: Wednesday, February 21, 7 p.m.

WHAT: Minnesota Public Radio presents T.R. Reid as part of its Broadcast Journalist Series. An admired global affairs reporter and author, Reid will speak with Minnesota Public Radio's Steven John on February 21 in the auditorium of O'Shaughnessy Educational Center at the University of St. Thomas.

T. R. Reid will discuss healthcare across the globe and his career of covering international affairs for "The Washington Post," writing books and making documentary films. PBS's "Frontline" made two documentaries while following Reid around the world as he wrote the book, "The Healing of America: A Global Quest for Better, Cheaper, and Fairer Health Care," which quickly became a national best-seller. Reid has written and hosted documentary films for National Geographic TV, for PBS, and for the A&E network. He is a regular commentator on National Public Radio's "Morning Edition." He has written seven books in English and three in Japanese. His books include "Confucius Lives Next Door: What Living in the East Teaches Us About Living in the West" and "The United States of Europe: The New Superpower and the End of American Supremacy."

Now in its 14th year, Minnesota Public Radio's Broadcast Journalist Series commissions journalists and correspondents four times a year. While here, they share their insights on their craft as well as on people and events that affect them professionally.
