WHAT: Join 89.3 The Current for "The Current Road Trip: Rochester" on Saturday, April 2. The free, all-ages event brings Dessa--the multi-talented rapper, solo artist and essayist--for a concert performance hosted by The Current's Mark Wheat. The audience is invited to experience the music, dance and learn more about the Minnesota music scene.

About Dessa
Dessa, also known as Dessa Darling, is a spoken word artist, author, and a member of the Doomtree Hip-Hop Collective. Dessa is also a founding member of The Boy Sopranos, an almost all-female a cappella group. She also teaches at the Institute of Production and Recording and the McNally Smith College of Music.

About The Current Road Trip
In 2010, The Current began hitting the pavement with "The Current Road Trip"--a concert series that brings the best of the Twin Cities' music scene to all corners of the state. Each concert features up-and-coming musical talents for an evening of music hosted by The Current DJs. Past concerts in Duluth and Mankato featured Minnesota artists Jeremy Messersmith and Roma Di Luna. The Current Road Trip is made possible in part by the Minnesota Legacy Amendment's Arts and Cultural Heritage Fund.
