Minnesota Public Radio's Broadcast Journalist Series Welcomes Kenneth Turan on April 21

WHEN: Thursday, April 21, 7 p.m.

WHAT: Minnesota Public Radio presents Kenneth Turan as part of its Broadcast Journalist Series. Turan, a lecturer and legendary film critic, will speak with Minnesota Public Radio's Stephanie Curtis on April 21 in the auditorium of O'Shaughnessy Educational Center at the University of St. Thomas.

Turan will discuss the role of critics in the new digital world, whether there will still be theaters in a decade, and what the overlooked movie gems are that everyone should seek out. Turan is the Lecturer in the Master of Professional Writing Program at the University of Southern California and is the film critic for the Los Angeles Times and NPR's Morning Edition, as well as the director of the Los Angeles Times Book Prizes.

About the Broadcast Journalist Series: Now in its 14th year, Minnesota Public Radio's Broadcast Journalist Series commissions journalists and correspondents four times a year. While here, they share their insights on their craft as well as on people and events that affect them professionally.
