WHAT: Poling, The New Standards/Suburbs founder, will host a night of his favorite themes and songs from film and television.
Poling, friends and a chamber music ensemble will perform songs from the swinging 60's and 70's European film score obscurities, to hipster takes on classic Mancini, Bachrach and Nilsson. Plus, Stephanie Curtis from the Current will stop by to talk about some of the great rock and roll music scores.
About the Performers
Jeremy Messersmith is a singer-songwriter and famed lyricist, making him a staple in the local music scene.
Janey Winterbauer is a local singer known for her prodigious vocal talents. Winterbauer is a member of Astronaut Wife and the duo, Janey and Marc with Marc Perlman of the Jayhawks.
Lucy Michelle is a writer, musician and front woman for Lucy Michelle and the Velvet Lapelles. Currently, she is working on a solo kids album and planning an extended tour to the east coast.
Terry Eason is a versatile Twin Cities guitarist, songwriter, composer and recording artist. His latest project is composing, recording and posting a song every day in 2011.
deVon Gray is a multi-instrumentalist, composer, conductor, and hip hop producer. Gray is a member of the hip hop band Heiruspecs and is also active in the classical music scene.
