Minnesota Public Radio Elects Dr. MaryAnn Baenninger and Rick King to Board of Trustees

(St. Paul, Minn.) May 2, 2011--Minnesota Public Radio today announced that MaryAnn Baenninger, Ph.D., and Rick King have been elected to Minnesota Public Radio's board of trustees.
Dr. MaryAnn Baenninger is president of the College of Saint Benedict in St. Joseph, MN. Under Baenninger's leadership, the College of Saint Benedict (CSB) was cited by US News and World Report as an up-and-coming institution two consecutive years. Prior to leading CSB, Baenninger served as a senior staff member at the Middle States Commission on Higher Education, and also as a tenured faculty member in the Department of Psychology at the College of New Jersey.
Baenninger is the incoming chair of the Minnesota Private College Council and is a member of the Minnesota Women's Economic Roundtable. Nationally, she serves on the Executive Committee of the Council of Independent Colleges and on the Executive Board of the Women's College Coalition. She also is on the Board of Trustees of the American University of Sharjah in the United Arab Emirates.
Originally from Philadelphia, Baenninger now resides in St. Joseph, MN, and in Minneapolis with her husband, Ron, a retired professor. They have two children and four grandchildren.
Rick King is chief technology officer for the Professional Division of Thomson Reuters. King has been with Thomson Reuters since 2000, serving in various executive capacities at the company. Prior to working with Thomson Reuters, King held executive-level positions at Ceridian Employer Services, Jostens Learning and WICAT Systems Inc.
King was named this year to the Metropolitan Airports Commission by Governor Mark Dayton, and was previously asked by former Minnesota Governor Tim Pawlenty to chair Minnesota's Ultra High-Speed Broadband Task Force, which delivered a landmark report with statewide goals that were legislatively adopted. King also serves on the State's Science and Technology Advisory Commission, and the US Chamber of Commerce's Telecommunications and e-Commerce Committee. He is a trustee for the Science Museum of Minnesota and chairs the city of Eden Prairie's Budget Advisory Commission.
King has two grown children and lives in Eden Prairie.
