(St. Paul, Minn.)--December 27, 2011--89.3 The Current announced today that renowned local musician John Munson will guest co-host weekday mornings on 89.3 The Current. He will join regular host Jill Riley 6-10 a.m. weekday mornings while The Current's Steve Seel is on family leave.
"I love the opportunity to test my ability to remain alert, not only on the drive in to the station, but also for four hours on the air starting at 6 a.m." Munson said. "This will be the most rock and roll thing I've ever done."
Weekday mornings on The Current will continue with favorite features: Random Vinyl, the Music History Highlight, the 9:30 Coffee Break, along with its regular guests--food critic Dara Moskowitz Grumdahl, The Movie Maven Stephanie Curtis, MPR News' Arts Reporter Marianne Combs--and other sonic treats to energize morning listeners.
"I love nothing more than making a rock 'n' roll guy wake up before dawn," Riley said. "It will turn Munson's world upside down, but I know his personality and love for music will be a fun addition to show. I hope he can stay sharp at 6 a.m."
