Rock the Cradle Returns March 24

Mar 4, 2013

89.3 The Current will present Rock the Cradle on Sunday, March 24-- a free day of fun for kids and their grown-ups, held at two of the state's premier arts and culture institutions. Now in its eighth year, the event has grown to host more than 10,000 people annually.

Throughout the day, families and social groups from all over the Twin Cities come together to enjoy music, art, books and their community in an inspiring setting. Rock the Cradle is aimed at kids up to age 8 and their grown-ups.

Attendees will find many fun activities, including sample classes presented by MacPhail Center for Music, live music from Guitar Party, The Bazillions, Duke Otherwise and Chris Koza from Rogue Valley, a Kids' Disco and Story Time with Current DJs.

New to the event this year: Presenting sponsor Children's Hospitals and Clinics of Minnesota present Star Studio Live! "The Dude" from Star Studio, which is Children's very own TV channel and studio, will be hosting a number of live show segments. These segments, which will include interactive games and educational entertainment, will also be broadcast to Children's hospitals in Minneapolis and St. Paul so kids in their patient rooms can also join in the fun.

And Play From Scratch brings their supply of raw materials for endless amounts of creative play where kids get to invent and build their own toys.

Other Rock the Cradle activities include music classes led by MacPhail Center for Music and Kinderberry Hill Child Development Centers, an interactive digital playground hosted by Playatta and lots more!
