Minnesota Public Radio Elects Robert Pohlad to Board of Trustees

Minnesota Public Radio today announced that Robert Pohlad has been elected to MPR's board of trustees. Pohlad oversees several family businesses for The Pohlad Companies and is the former CEO of PepsiAmericas. After working at a Pepsi bottling plant in Tulsa, Okla., and a Pepsi distributor in Portland, Ore., he returned to Minneapolis as CEO of PepsiAmericas. PepsiCo purchased that company in 2010. He now oversees several Pohlad companies including JB Hudson Jewelers, Twin Cities Automotive, Marquette Real Estate Group and Marquette Financial Cos.

Pohlad and his wife Rebecca are long-time members of Minnesota Public Radio. He is a director and vice president of the Carl and Eloise Pohlad Family Foundation, and has served on the Minnesota Twins Community Fund, the University of Minnesota Foundation, American Beverage Association, and the Breck School. He is a former trustee of the University of Puget Sound in Tacoma, Wash., currently sits on the board of Cristo Rey Jesuit High School and is chair of the Dean's Board of Visitors for the University of Minnesota Medical School.
