MPR Presents Radio Heartland's 5th Anniversary Party on December 11
Nov 13, 2013
MPR's Radio Heartland celebrates its fifth anniversary with an evening of music at the Aster Cafe on Wednesday, December 11. Launched in November 2008, Radio Heartland is a 24-hour service featuring acoustic, Americana and roots music. Radio Heartland is available in the Twin Cities on KNOW-FM 91.1 HD2 and worldwide at radioheartland.org.
Celebrate with Radio Heartland at the Aster Cafe in northeast Minneapolis for this showcase featuring some of the region's top Americana acts. Acoustic roots band The Brass Kings kick off the show at 8 p.m. with their signature sound, followed by Minnesota folk singer and songwriter Peter Mayer, who has been described by Folk Roots magazine as "a master storyteller". A surprise, not-to-be-missed headliner to be announced later this month, rounds out the lineup.
"We're delighted to celebrate Radio Heartland's fifth anniversary with our loyal listeners," said Radio Heartland producer Mike Pengra. "We're also excited to be celebrating our birthday with some of the same excellent local musicians who have been with us right from the start."
