Oct 8, 2024

ST. PAUL, Minn., Oct. 8, 2024— The board of trustees of Minnesota Public Radio has welcomed Dr. Marc Gorelick as its newest member.

Gorelick is president and chief executive officer of Children’s Minnesota, the state’s only health care system dedicated exclusively to children, from before birth through young adulthood. He previously served as executive vice president and COO of Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin in Milwaukee and practiced academic pediatric emergency medicine for 25 years in Philadelphia, Wilmington, Del., and Milwaukee. His education includes a bachelor’s from Princeton University, an M.D. from Duke University, and a master's from the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine.

Gorelick serves on the boards of Playworks Minnesota and First Universalist Church of Minneapolis. His prior board service includes the Morrison Family College of Health Sciences, University of St. Thomas, Ronald McDonald House Charities of Eastern Wisconsin, and Unitarian Universalist Church West. He and his wife moved to Minnesota in 2017 and became MPR members soon after; they live in Minneapolis with their two dogs and have two adult sons.

“I’m thrilled that Marc is joining the MPR Board of Trustees,” said Jean Taylor, president and CEO of American Public Media Group, the parent company of Minnesota Public Radio. “His commitment to health equity and the importance of community partnership aligns beautifully with our core values and strategic vision and makes him a natural addition.”

“Having moved around the country, public radio has long been an invaluable source of information, connection and inspiration for me over the years,” Gorelick said. “I am particularly inspired by American Public Media Group’s vision of ‘a connected America fueled by trust and understanding.’ I look forward to working with the rest of the board and the leadership to advance that vision.”
