ST. PAUL, Minn., Dec. 9, 2024 – The Board of Trustees of Minnesota Public Radio (MPR) has welcomed two new members. Jeff Lin, co-founder and CEO of Pennant and founder of Bust Out, and Jason Radisson, founder and CEO of Movo were elected to the board in early December.
“We are very excited to welcome Jeff and Jason to our Board of Trustees. Each brings significant expertise and experience in the digital world, the heart and mind of an entrepreneur, and a life-long passion for public radio,” said Jean Taylor, president and CEO of American Public Media Group. “Jeff has tremendous experience supporting nonprofits in the culture space in our community and an eye to utilize technology to make the world a better place. Jason is a global citizen who now makes Minnesota his home and will bring innovative energy and ideas to our board. They are fantastic additions to our board as we work to create the future of public media.”
Jeff is the co-founder and CEO of Pennant and founder of Bust Out, both located in Minneapolis. Pennant, founded in 2023, is a digital media platform that enables performing artists and creators to launch their own custom-branded subscription video platforms. Bust Out is a digital agency that makes websites, apps, enterprise software and digital experiences. Lin also serves as a limited partner at Groove Capital and Tundra Ventures.
An Oberlin, Ohio, native, Lin comes to Minnesota by way of Carleton College, where he graduated magna cum laude with a bachelor’s degree in molecular biology. Lin serves on the boards of the Ordway Center for the Performing Arts and Theater Latté Da. He is also a governing member of the Saint Paul Chamber Orchestra and a member of the Schubert Club’s Advisory Circle. He lives in Minneapolis with his wife and three young children.
“Growing up in Oberlin, Ohio, my first exposure to Minnesota was through the radio programs broadcast nationwide,” said Lin. “Now, having established family roots in Minneapolis, I’m thrilled to serve on the Board of Trustees for an organization that has such a positive influence on our community, culture and people.”
Jason Radisson is the CEO and founder of Movo, an AI-first platform optimizing work allocation and boosting frontline productivity for some of the world's largest employers. His previous experience includes serving as executive vice president of Avira, now part of Norton; regional general manager of Uber, leading its launch in the Western U.S.; and COO of 99, the Brazilian ridesharing and delivery platform. More than 20 venture-backed CEOs have gotten their start on his teams.
Radisson began his career at McKinsey & Company, where he worked on international technology mergers and acquisitions. His education includes a bachelor’s degree with highest honors at College of the Holy Cross, a Fulbright Scholarship in economics at the University of Göttingen in Germany, a Master of Laws from the Universidad Complutense de Madrid, and two years of PhD coursework in economics at Harvard University.
Previous board service includes Gap Inc., Germany's Otto Group, Scout 24, and eCircle, now part of Teradata. Fluent in German, Spanish and English, Radisson maintains strong ties to Germany and other international markets. He lives in Edina with his wife and two youngest children, and he is an avid runner, cyclist and skier.
"Some of my earliest memories are of listening to public radio from the back seat of my mom’s car as she juggled single parenthood, college, childcare and frontline jobs. For me, hard work and informed citizenship are essential values that have always been deeply interconnected,” said Radisson. “American Public Media Group’s mission to 'create the future of public media by amplifying voices to inform, include, and inspire' deeply resonates with me. I’m excited to collaborate with the board and leadership team to advance this mission during such transformative times."
