Classical MPR Presents Artist-in-Residence Chad Hoopes in Concert May 24 at Hamline University's Sundin Music Hall

: Classical MPR is proud to present violinist Chad Hoopes in concert, along with accompanist Dina Vainshtein, on Thursday, May 24 at the Sundin Music Hall. Chad Hoopes is Classical MPR's 2011-2012 Artist-In-Residence and this will be the final concert of his residency. Hoopes will perform an all-French program, including Cesar Franck's Violin Sonata in A major.

Classical Minnesota Public Radio Announces Showcase Artists for "Minnesota Varsity"

Classical MPR announced today the Showcase Artists for "Minnesota Varsity"--a program celebrating some of the best young Minnesota classical musicians. To participate in Minnesota Varsity, music students ages 14-18 (grades 9th-12th) from around the state were asked to submit a recording of themselves performing.

The Current's Morning Show is inviting the public to a live breakfast broadcast from the Red Stag Supperclub in NE Minneapolis on April 13, 6-10 a.m. The Current's Morning Show hosts Steve Seel and Jill Riley, heard weekday 6-10 a.m., will be ringleaders of the fun, chatting with guests and celebrating the arts community. Renowned local musicians Jeremy Messersmith and Slug from Atmosphere will join the crew to perform for the live and radio audiences.
