As Minnesota's largest cultural organization, Minnesota Public Radio's broadcast signal is available to 95 percent of the population of the state. Every week, more than 900,000 people tune into MPR's three regional services (News, Classical Music and The Current) for an average of eight hours -- Minnesotans spend 7.2 million hours listening to MPR each week.

89.3 The Current presents Rock the Cradle, a free day of family fun, held at two of the state's premier arts and culture institutions. Now in its fifth year, the event has grown from 2,500 attendees its first year to just under 13,000 attendees last year. Families and social groups from all over the Twin Cities come together to enjoy music, art, books and their community in a meaningful, entertaining and engaging setting.

The Current announced today that it will celebrate its fifth year of broadcasting with a party January 29, 2010, at First Avenue in Minneapolis. The lineup is a cast of all-star Minnesotan musicians: Solid Gold, P.O.S., Mason Jennings, Lookbook and The Twilight Hours (John Munson and Matt Wilson).
Classical Minnesota Public Radio to Host the Parker Quartet During a First-Ever Artists-in-Residency

Classical Minnesota Public Radio announced today its first-ever artists-in-residency, the Parker Quartet. The group will embark on a multi-tiered program throughout 2010--which includes appearances on Performance Today broadcasts, concerts throughout the region and at a non-traditional venue, The Varsity Theater in Minneapolis. The group will also teach masters classes, and will host a national string quartet competition for aspiring classical musicians.
