Minnesota Public Radio presents Wits, a four part series at The Fitzgerald Theater starting in March. Wits is a radio stage show that brings some of the country's leading storytellers, writers and whip-smart funny people to the historic F. Scott Fitzgerald Theater to shed some light on a subject they're excited about. Guests join host John Moe and musical guide John Munson for a look at the subject through stories, songs and a conversation that will leave you laughing. Guests include Sandra Bernhard, Roseanne Cash, Patton Oswalt, Grant Lee Phillips, Neil Gaiman, Chuck Klosterman, and many more musical friends to be added.

BBC World Service and Minnesota Public Radio Team Up to Bring Expat Somali Community's Views to Global Audiences

BBC World Service and Minnesota Public Radio (MPR) are teaming up to bring the voices of the American Somali community to African and global audiences. The initiative will be part of the BBC's special programming on Wednesday, January 26 - the 20th anniversary of the overthrow of military dictator, Siad Barre. Ravaged by war and anarchy, the country has struggled to govern itself effectively ever since.

MPR News and the Post-Bulletin are hosting a community conversation about public safety in Rochester. As the community grows larger and more diverse, a perception persists that crime is on the rise too. But what do statistics tell us? What do residents say? And what's the opinion of community leaders who have experience with both the perception and the reality of crime in Rochester? This community conversation will separate fact from fiction. Host Kate Smith will call upon neighbors and leaders to share their stories in an event that is sure to inform and inspire.
